Exmouth Gateway
A little history about us…
We are a social group for adults with learning disabilities in Exmouth and the surrounding area. Founded in 1989 we currently have over 120 members who have a wide range of disabilities. The aim of the group is to help our members develop their social and independence skills whilst giving them the opportunity to socialise with their peers in familiar surroundings whilst feeling safe and relaxed.
The Club is run by volunteers and relies purely on donations and fund raising to operate. The group meets every Monday (including most Bank Holidays) at Exmouth Rugby Club – Doors open at 6:30pm with activities from 7pm to 9pm. We put on a variety of different activities that include craft nights, discos, bingo, skittles, karaoke, quizzes, as well as day trips and holidays. Whilst at club the members have access to our self run tuckshop where you can purchase sweets, chocolates, cans or crisps at just 50p. There is also free hot drinks available. Don’t forget to check out our tuckshop page if you would like to order some for a delivery or to send as a gift!
We also have 3 disability football teams that play as part of the Exmouth Tigers Disability FC. We have 3 teams, 2 male (Tigers and Cubs) and 1 female (Tigeresses) who train every Saturday from 9.00am to 10.30am at Exmouth Rugby Club. Players are aged 16+ and they play in monthly tournaments around Devon. The Tigers are managed by Paul Baldwin and also coaches Steve Letheren, Tom O Callaghan, Emma Baldwin and Carolyn Letheren.
